Things I am Thankful For This Christmas
This year, we have a lot to be thankful for. Here are a few of those things:
- Our sweet, beautiful, happy baby boy
- A healthy son (This is something some parents may take for granted. We, however, feel very lucky to have Quin healthy after everything I went through during my pregnancy)
- A baby who is good at sleeping
- Getting breastfeeding down and having a son who will gladly take a bottle from anyone who will give it to him (including strangers on a plane)
- The swing that puts Quin to sleep during the day. If this swing broke tomorrow, we would rush out to buy another because without it, he does not nap (I found this out first hand in LA)
- A boy who is generally very happy and loves to play
- The magical song (The Butterfly from the Celtic Woman CD) that quiets Quin no matter how mad he is
- Having a family
that loves Qui

I remember our first Christmas, back in 1973, when Carl and I were grateful for a little girl named Heather. My pregnancy had been healthy and normal, but unfortunately our baby girl was born with many problems, and almost didn't make it. But by that Christmas, we had a little girl who was a survivor. So, I can really relate to what Elizabeth writes here. Having a healthy child is more important than having a "cute" or "smart" baby any day. I'm so glad that Elizabeth and Tim have their hearts and heads in the right place! And I am very grateful that Quintin Matthew was born healthy, because I worried throughout the pregnancy, as I know all the family worried. And look at our little darling now!
