Where Have We Been?

We haven't posted anything on here in a while, as you can see. Of course that's not because Quin hasn't been being cute, but in fact we've just been too darned busy basking in his cuteness. The last few weeks Quin has been the happiest I've ever seen him. Don't get me wrong, he's always been a very happy kid (I say always like we're talking years, sheesh). It's just that he's been extra, extra happy. We have now had to remove Quin from restaurants more times because he was making too much noise being happy than being mad.

Lately he has learned that if he screams in his most blood curdling, high pitched voice, that it reverberates wonderfully across all walls. And I've discovered just how powerful a weapon a goatee can be against a ticklish little boy's armpit. So powerful in fact that when he sees me coming for him, he lets out one of said screams with everything he's got.

Another of Quin's new favorite pastimes is making funny faces. He's really building up quite a repertoire. There's the "Old Man" face, where he sucks in his bottom lips and looks like an old man with no teeth. Then there's the "Old Man Eats Steak" face, which one-ups "Old Man" by looking like an old man trying desperately to gum a steak to death. His newest is the "Look How Long My Tongue Is" face. No explanation needed.

Quin's newest toy is a "Rainforest Jumperoo". Before Quin, I had never heard of one of these, but I knew of the jumper that went in the doorway. At first Quin didn't know what to do with this thing, but then he got the hang of it and now he loves it (but only for so long). His little feet get going in a fury of baby chub and he bounces like crazy. All the while the lights and sounds are going off non-stop on the toy. Pictures just don't do it justice. Elizabeth says he looks like he's doing an Irish Jig with his feet, it's really pretty funny. The funniest part though is how serious and focused Quin gets on it. No smiles, no laughing, just pure concentration. I know he's having fun, but he just looks so serious.
