Ouch
Sorry for the lack of posts, but I will try and be better (no guarantees though seeig as I tend to say that a lot)! Yesterday, Quin, Nana, GG, Poppa, and I went to the farm. I am sure that sounds a little odd, but yes, we went to a working farm here in Fort Collins. This is the second time that we have visited the animals, and each time it is just as wonderful. At this farm, you can feed the sheep, goats, cows, chickens, and pig, or you can climb on an old tractor. They even have pony rides! As Quin is still obsessed with animals, you can only imagine how excited he is when he gets to go to the farm.
Last time we went, Quin was rather scared of the cows at first (I don't think he realized just how big they are). He did, however, warm up to them and enjoyed looking at them. We were even lucky enough to see them being milked! On this visit, Quin did a great job feeding the animals. He even got to give a little hay to the ponies (and the lone mule that Gwen is in love with). He really enjoyed petting the sheep and goats, but unfortunately our pig friend was missing. It makes you wonder where he went?!
The only downside to being on a farm are the bugs. Usually bugs don't bother me, however they do when they sting my poor, unsuspecting, sweet little boy. Yes, Quin got his first bee sting. At first, I thought that he had burned himself on the warm metal gate keeping the cow penned up, but then I saw the welt forming on his tender little arm. Sure enough, that mean old bee stung Quin. We got some ice on the sting right away and that helped a lot, but it still needed baking soda. Luckily, the office at the farm had some so we made a paste and smeared it on there. Quin actually thought that it was kinda neat to have that white stuff on his arm, but he did try to share it with bear. By last night it looked fine and there were no worries. At least we know he isn't allergic to bee stings! Poor little guy! He took the sting like a big boy.
